Boy was I struggling to land on a legitimate thesis topic for some time, but I have finally found it! I won't be mentioning it much in this post, but I'll be revealing that topic in a future post, so keep the channel locked >:)
Another request of our professor was to start finding activists within our field to research. Considering I haven't had a legitimate thesis concept until now, I cast a pretty broad net and found this fantastic designer Michael Thompson. Otherwise known as "FREESTYLEE, Artist without Borders," he's been creating reggae-inspired art and refugee awareness posters that have been winning awards all over the world since the beginning of the decade.
While I cannot comment too heavily on his portfolio, I truly admire his work and its constant reflection of both his love for his community and his desire to see its improvement. The earnestness with which he is attached to the subject of his work is something I want to be reflected in my own work for this project. Not only do I want to be intrinsically connected to my project because I made it, but I want it to have the feel that only I could have done it. This ideal will make more sense when my topic is revealed!
